Next week (19 & 20 April 2017) the Sanitation and Water for All (SWA) partnership will gather ministers of Finance and water and sanitation from around the world together in Washington D.C., USA. At the High Level Meetings (HLMs) ministers will discuss how their countries are working to bring clean water, decent toilets and hygiene services to all.

As result of a robust awareness on the poor sanitary condition in Paynesville and other surroundings in the city by WASH R&E "Media" Network, it appears that the WASH Media reportage on the sanitary condition is yielding meaningful results.
The WASH Media has been following the grave issues surrounding poor sanitation in Paynesville for a protracted period now, with the publications and broadcast of several articles highlighting the issues relating to sanitation in the city.
As you will read in this story, there has been some level of improvement in the sanitary condition of the municipality.

WaterAid Liberia-Sierra Leone has ended a three-day Transboundary Partners Planning Meeting in Monrovia. The Meeting which brought together a total of 52 Participants from both Liberia and Sierra Leone, focused on partners' actvities for 2017/18.

A delegation of Act-Alliance has described the organization’s activities in Liberia as satisfactory. The delegation said the intervention of its local chapter, the Lutheran Development Services (LDS) was a lifesaving venture.
The Group’s Secretary General, John Ndonah speaking recently during their visit to Liberia, also extolled Government for the level of cooperation during the implementation of its programs.

Civil Society Organizations in Liberia doing advocacy for safe drinking water, sanitation and hygiene, have successfully commemorated Water Action Month (March 2017).
The Liberia WASH CSOs commemorated the Month with series of activities, with support from WaterAid Liberia-Sierra Leone, ranging from sit in actions, radio and TV talk shows, among others.
The commemoration of the day started with a radio Talk show at Fabric FM with George Karyah of the Liberia NGOs Network and Timothy Kpeh of United Youth for Education Development and Transparency appearing as guests on the show.
