The WASH Reporters & Editors Network of Liberia has ended a 2-Day Refresher Workshop for over 20 Liberian Journalists from various media institutions on Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Reportage.
The Workshop was aimed at building the capacity of WASH journalists to effectively cover WASH issues and bring to national platform critical issues in the sector.
Speaking at the official opening ceremony, Assistant Public Works Minister for Community Services, George Yarngo urged the WASH Media practitioners to double their passion in reporting those issues affecting the WASH sector of the country.

Each year May 28 is celebrated the World Over as Menstrual Hygiene Day. The Day was initiated by the German-based NGO WASH Unitedin 2014.
The month of May was chosen because usually women have five days of periods and the date symbolizes the average duration of the monthly cycle.
MenstrualHygiene Day is aimed at raising awareness among girls and women about their bodies, which undergo important changes during the onset of puberty and at different stages of their lives.

Liberians have petitioned members of the National Legislature to pass into law a Commission that will set policies and guidelines governing the Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) sector of the country.
The petitioned by citizens was recently presented at a WASH Governance Forum organized by United Youth for Peace, Education, Transparency & Development in Liberia(UYPETDL) with support from the British Charity, WaterAid.

As part of its Equity and Inclusion Policy in the provision of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) service delivery, the British Charity "WaterAid" has turned over a latrine facility to the disable in Bomi County.
The Charity in concert with one of its local partners, United Youth For Peace, Education, Transparency & Development in Liberia (UYPETDL) turned over the latrine to the disable in Cooper Town Community in Tubmanburg over the weekend.
Providing an overview of the project, the National Executive Director of UYPETDL Timothy Kpeh said the objective of the project is to bring about equity and inclusion in the provision of WASH service delivery in the country.
