WaterAid Liberia and Sierra Leone has held a Meeting with Stakeholders to discuss the new Strategic Direction that will shape the path of the Transboundary Programme in the coming five years and how it aligns with WASH sector focus.
A Team of Directors from WaterAid UK and Senegal also visited Liberia from November 5-6, 2015 to support the Programme next 5-year Strategy Development and engaged with different Stakeholders as a means of strengthening Partnerships.
Members of the Delegation were Margaret Batty–Director of Policy and Campaigns, Marcus Missen–Director of Communications and Fundraising, Mariame Dem–Head of Region, WaterAid West Africa, and Apollos Nwafor–Regional Advocacy Manager–West Africa.

A Lawmaker of the 53rd National Legislature of the Republic of Liberia has made a passionate plea for the issue of hand washing to be prioritized across the Country.
Margibi County Representative, Emmanuel Nuquay wants all Liberians and foreign residents prioritize hand washing as it is one of the surest ways they can prevent the spread of common communicable germs and diseases.
Representative Nuquay described as important the crucial role of hand washing in the prevention of diseases.

Liberia on Thursday, October 15 joined other countries around the world to celebrate Global Handwashing Day 2015.
As part of celebration, the government of Liberia and partners in the Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) sector held an elaborate program marking the observance of the Day.
Similarly celebration was held in other parts of the country in observance of the Day by different organizations, including the Christian Charity, Living Water International Liberia and other Partners with similar celebration to mark Global Handwashing in Margibi County.

WaterAid Transboundary together with partners in Liberia would from October 13th-15th, 2015 mark Global Handwashing Day by raising nationwide awareness on the importance of Handwashing. To the awareness campaign will also urge governments including citizens to sustain the good handwashing practice as it is one of the cheapest, simplest, but most effective tools in preventing the spread of WASH related diseases includingdiarrhoea, cholera, trachoma, respiratory tract infection, etc. andthe fight against Ebola.

The former Resident Representative of the Lutheran World Service/World Federation, Reinhard Tietze has returned to Liberia on a 2-week assessment visit and to provide Training in Development, Capacity Building and Sustainability. Mr. Tietze who was instrumental in the establishment of the Lutheran Development Service (LDS) in Liberia before his departure at the close of 2001 has described his return visit as his continuous interest in Liberia and its people.
