LIBERIA: Flood poses health hazard to freeport community

Freeport community on the Bushrod Island has always experienced flooding thus creating unbearable conditions for residents, pedestrians and motorists. Some residents attribute the flooding to the poor manner in which drainages in the area were constructed, others blamed it on the construction of houses on the waterways, while some believe that the throwing of garbage in drainages is responsible for the flooding.

- President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf is expected this Friday, June 19, 2015 to officially chair the first sitting of the National Water Resource Sanitation Board. The Board Meeting will be held in the Cabinet Room of the Executive Mansion, bringing together 13 Cabinet Ministers, including WASH Sector Ministers from line Ministries.
