LIBERIA: WASH Consortium breaks ground for EU Water Facility Project

By: WASH R&E “Media” Network – The Liberia WASH Consortium has broken grounds for a 3.3 Million euro Improved Sanitation and Hygiene Project in White Flowers Community, West Point Township, Montserrado County. West Point is an over populated municipality of the Liberian capital, Monrovia with a population of almost close to hundred thousand inhabitants. The Project is funded by the European Union (EU) Water Facility. Liberia: Poor maintenance damages hand pumps in Cape Mount

By: WASH R&E “Media” Network – The hand pumps located in Tewor and Gola Konneh Districts, were primarily erected to ease hardship residents faced in getting safe drinking water. According to the Executive Director of a local NGO, Community Development Services, most of the facilities were damaged due to poor maintenance on the part of the residents.
