LIBERIA: Living Water Int’l Certificates 3 Rural Communities on ODF

By: WASH R&E “Media” Network – Living Water International Liberia has certificated three communities in Margibi County for their efforts to reach Open Defecation Free status. The three communities include Ambulah, Gaylaylah and Joe Vahn Towns in Gibi and Kakata Districts respectively. Five communities were triggered, three became ODF. The certificates of Declaration awarded the three communities were signed by the Ministries of Health & Social Welfare, Public Works and the Living Water International-Liberia. Ivory Coast: High Level WASH Forum ends in Abidjan

LIBERIA: World Toilet Day Celebrations – Communities keep their promise to become Open Defecation Free

By: WASH R&E “Media” Network  – World Toilet Day was celebrated in Bong County by a gathering of 8 county teams who are working with communities to become Open Defecation Free (ODF).  These communities take responsibility for their own sanitation and hygiene with the guidance of the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare and NGO implementing partners.  Nearly 200 communities have become ODF in the past year by their own actions through community-led total sanitation (CLTS) approach.
