Federal Government says that it has secured fifty-five (55,000) hectares of land from eleven states for the development of pasture and paddocks grazing reserve in the country.
The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Chief Audu Ogbeh, gave this indication while briefing journalists on the Federal Government’s achievements in the Agriculture sector in commemoration of this year's World Food Day in Abuja, the nation's Federal Capital Territory.

The House of Representatives has mandated its Committees on Agricultural Production and Services and Customs and Excise to investigate the Federal Ministry of Agriculture regarding exportation of yam tubers.
The House alleged that the ministry disregarded the law prohibiting exportation of yam tubers. Others expected to be probed alongside the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development were Comptroller-General of Customs and the Executive Director, Nigerian Export Promotion Council, Director-General, the Standards Organisation of Nigeria, Head, Nigerian Quarantine Service and heads of all other relevant agencies.

The West African Examination Council, WAEC, is worried over the dangerous dimensions that examination malpractice is beginning to assume in West Africa particularly in Nigeria.
