Judge Khan, who is presiding Judge of Trial Chamber III, has been Vice-President of the Tribunal since 21 May 2007. The President of the United Nations International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda Judge Dennis Byron has assigned four Permanent Judges of the Trial Chambers of the Tribunal to the Appeals Chamber of the ICTR. The Judges are Khalida Rachid Khan (Pakistan), William Sekule (Tanzania), Arlette Ramaroson (Madagascar) and Bakhtiyar Tuzmukhamedov (Russia). The United Nations International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda on Monday 23 May 2011 commenced conducting special deposition proceedings in the case of Félicien Kabuga, who is yet to be arrested, in order to preserve the prosecution’s evidence against him.
