South Africa: Scarce skills permits needed for renewable energy programme

The prompt and efficient rollout of government’s renewable energy programme is possible only if we can import the skills necessary for the development of these new industries.  This is the view of Sandra Burmeister, CEO of the Landelahni Recruitment Group. The government signed contracts in November with 28 independent power producers for the delivery of 400MW of renewable energy to the national grid, bringing an investment worth R47bn into the energy sector.
