Uganda: Campaigns Heat Up In Uganda Elections

On Wednesday the electoral body, contested by mainly the opposition handed over the registers to members of political parties taking part in the presidential campaign. UGANDA: One million trees for Mt Elgon region

Uganda court bans Rolling Stone news paper Gay publications

By Own Correspondent – Kampala – Uganda’s high court has ordered a controversial Rolling Stone newspaper to stop publishing the names and photographs of people the paper says are gay. High Court judge Vincent Musoke-Kibuuka said the publication was “an infringement or invasion of the right to privacy” of those identified, AFP reports. A gay rights group, Sexual Minorities Uganda, sought the injunction after the paper on Monday published its second straight edition with names and photos. Uganda: Presidential nominations today

Uganda’s Electoral Commission has cleared six presidential candidates for nomination which starts today at the Mandela National Stadium in Namboole and end tomorrow for presidential aspirants. According to the EC spokesperson, Willy Ochola, the six had fulfilled the required conditions after submitting 100 signatures of supporters from at least 75 of the 112 districts.
