Uganda: Charges against opposition leader Kizza Besigye dropped

By Nangayi Guyson – Kampala – Ugandan court has dropped all charges against opposition leader Kizza Besigye in connection with this year’s cost of living protests. Kizza Besigye was arrested four times and accused of inciting violence during the protests, in which Ugandans were urged to walk to work. On another occasion, he was beaten by police which sparked more protests. Human rights groups condemned the suppression of the protests, in which at least nine people died. Uganda’s largest Owino market burnt to ashes

By Nangayi Guyson – Uganda’s largest Owino market, for the second time has been burnt to ashes causing a loss of billions to over 30000 market traders. On Sunday night the fire started consuming the market at a very high speed. Uganda police and fire fighters were seen on the scene but still nothing was recovered. Uganda taxi drivers and conductor’s demonstration paralyze transport sector

Uganda taxi drivers and conductors to go on demonstration
