Zimbabwe’s long political turmoil force youths into refugees

Thirty- seven year old Hebert Janga relocated to Malawi with his wife and three children in 2012 - to date, he and his family have not visited their relatives back home because they are undocumented. In a telephone interview Janga said his passport expired in 2014, while his wife’s travelling documents now attract a fine from immigration because she has overstayed in that country and can no longer pass through the border easily. “We no longer have travelling documents to travel back home. If we decide to go back today, it will be difficult and very expensive. The children need new travelling documents because when we came they used Emergency Travelling Documents (ETDs), which expired after 6 months of being issued,” Janga said.

Zimbabwe music producer awes South African artiste

A Zimbabwean music producer is making waves after doing a collaboration with popular South African house music artiste L’vovo Derrango. Tapfumanashe Rujeko spoke to Shout-Africa about the song ‘Zunza’ which has been getting a lot of airplay on the local music scene and said all he was overwhelmed by the response he got from music lovers.

Zimbabwe: Protestors in tussle with police

Zimbabwe’s capital Harare witnessed clashes between protestors and the police with the latter throwing teargas to disperse the mob . The protestors under the banner of NERA(National Electoral Reform Agenda)youth forum and MyZimbabwe-a campaign by MDC-T youth assembly were demonstrating against the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission(ZEC) accusing it of putting various mechanisms meant to disenfranchise would-be voters. The youths started the march early in the morning wielding placards that were inscribed with messages like ‘ZEC Must Fall, ‘We Say No to Piece Meal Reforms, We Demand Adequate Registration Centers, Makarau Must Go,’ Mugabe Must Go Now among many other messages reflecting displeasure on the electoral body’s administration of voter registration and other electoral processes.

Zimbabwe: Norton prophet dismisses ‘Chinhoyi snake story’ as a hoax

A Norton-based prophet has dismissed claims the story that was heard on National Fm recently were a woman aged 22 claimed to possess a big snake and was seeking help from ‘robed prophets’ popularly known as ‘madzibaba’ here . Prophet Brighton Chikomo who heads Bright Light Prophetic ministries says people should not be hoodwinked by the ‘fake prophets’ who are feeling the heat because most people are now flocking to Pentecostal churches for deliverance.
