Fifty- six year old Christopher Danga- a retired civil servant was sent on an early retirement after the government of national unity ceased to exist four years ago.
Now a pensioner, Danga retired to his communal lands in Goromonzi. His paltry pension earnings over the years have however prevented him from harvesting enough to even feed his small family.

A group of artistes under the Kadoma-based stable ‘Born-To-Shine’ have added their voices against the orgy of child marriages .The group’s lead singer Tatenda Chisamba popularly known as Trice in showbiz spoke to this paper about the song entitled ‘No to Child Marriages’ where he said as young artistes they came up with a positive message to chastise particularly parents who marry off their daughters to fend off poverty.

Opposition party Transform Zimbabwe has been touring Matebeleland since 27 May with the leadership of the party meeting keystakeholders.
In a statement, the Jacob Ngarivhume-led party said they have so far visited several church leaders in the region claiming that most of them have rallied their support to the party.

To improve the quality of the Miss Zimbabwe Contest, new licensees to host the preliminaries to the contest will be appointed worldwide.
Over the last few years, the Miss Zimbabwe Trust has been looking for ways to improve the quality of the contest. One of the ways it has sought to do this is to improve the quality of the contestants and the regional contests that feed into the main contest.
As part of this focus on improvement, the way preliminary shows in Zimbabwe and abroad are managed will be improved. These contests are to be more focused on promoting the contestants and Zimbabwe. In a press briefing, the founder of the Miss Zimbabwe Trust, Crispen Sachikonye, who has been in strategic discussions with various stakeholders, said that new licensees will be appointed for various regions. He said that the identification of licensees was now at an advanced stage with for example, Zimbabwe Fashion Showcase being selected as a licensee for Miss Zimbabwe UK.
