The third instalment of the Zimbabwe International Women Awards (ZIWA) is well underway with this year's theme Celebrating #ZimWomanMagic . The awards ceremony recognises and celebrates international Zimbabwean women of excellence. It’s coming up to that time of the year when Zimbabwean women across the globe will be honoured at the prestigious Zimbabwe International Women’s Awards (ZIWA) ceremony to be held on Saturday, 29th October 2016 in Leicester, UK. ZIWA2014 and 2015 were sold out events with nominees flying in from Zimbabwe and the US. Through sponsorship by GBIHub, a private awards ceremony was held in Harare in order to honour those winners based in Zimbabwe.

Villagers in food-deficit districts affected by erratic rains induced by the El Nino phenomenon, are adopting various measures to preserve their scant harvest and keep their food bills in check, including skipping meals and reducing food portions.
The daily struggle to keep hunger at bay is placing an additional burden on the shoulders of women in famine-ravaged rural areas who are forced to take up more work in addition to their traditional household responsibilities, to secure food for daily needs.
A 34-year-old expectant mother of three Sekesai Sande, of Foothills farm 12 kilometres from Bindura town, is among 150 villagers who have embarked on vegetable farming both for household consumption and to earn a small income for other needs.

Zimbabwe Fashion Showcase returns to the UK one year after its iconic debut.
The event will run from July 28-30, 2016 and will feature the work of Rahima Mohamed and TapiwaKanhemba, two emerging designers from Zimbabwe, whose striking creations are sure to impress renowned buyers, the press and the public.

A pile of arranged bricks re-inforced by black plastic paper, cardboard boxes and wooden poles with randomly set metal for a roof is home to 59 year old Eunice Vhimbo, her husband Leonard (63) and their four grandchildren.
Inside the tiny make-shift, are worn out blankets that are spread over a small mattress used for a bed, while a canvas tent spread across the room covers the dusty floor.

Great news as trailblazing Zimbabwean comedian Carl Joshua Ncube is set to achieve a major milestone for Zimbabwe comedy as he joins the cast on the BEST OF AFRICA GALA (which includes David Kau, Ndumiso Lindi, Salvado, Churchill) at the Comedy Central International Comedy Festival to be held in Johannesburg at Silverstar Casino from the 25th of November to the 5th of December.
