U.S. Embassy invites entries to Black History Month Essay Contest on “What Can I Do?”

Harare, January 26, 2012: The United States Embassy invites all Upper Six Level students in Zimbabwe to submit entries to the Black History Essay contest.  Deadline is February 10, 2012. U.S. Jazz group to tour Zimbabwe

Harare, January 24, 2012: A Chicago-based jazz band, “The Dennis Luxion / Michael Raynor Quartet”, will visit Zimbabwe this weekend to perform live shows at cultural centers in Harare and Chitungwiza as well as conduct workshops with local musicians. Jamaican artistes are less demanding: Zimbabwe’s top promoter

Clint Robinson’s statement comes as some music analysts have criticised the continuous promotion of Jamaican artists in the country. Others went on to pre-empt a reggae-dancehall fatigue due to the influx of musicians from the Caribbean Island within Zimbabwe’s borders. Zimbabwe: U.S. pushes for African solutions to climate change

Harare, December 16th 2011: The United States government is banking on innovations and technology from Africa to address the challenge of climate change with the Apps4Africa: Climate Challenge Program.
