Zimbabwean Photographer Resta Nyamwanza Competes in Spain for Photoafrica Award

Tarifa, Spain – Award-winning Zimbabwean photographer Resta Nyamwanza competes with her work in finale of 4th Photoafrica contest, which takes place within the 8th African Film Festival of Tarifa (FCAT) in Spain, from June 6th to 19th. Resta Nyamwanza thematizes in her work, among other themes, also modern African cities and their dwellers. Nyamwanza regularly exhibits her work in Zimbabwe and already gained first international experience by participating in exhibitions in Sweden and Denmark. ZIMBABWE: Cash transfers target vulnerable children

HARARE, 31 May 2011 (PlusNews) – Orphans and vulnerable children in 10 of Zimbabwe’s poorest districts will start benefiting from a government scheme to help them go to school, have enough to eat and access medical care.   There are about 100,000 child-headed households in Zimbabwe and a quarter of all children in the country, about 1.6 million, have lost one or both parents to HIV and other causes.
