Competition For Artists From Southern Africa

The German artistic foundation kunst:raum sylt quelle, in cooperation with the Goethe Institut South Africa, have announced their 2010 competition for southern African artists. The competition is open to artists  of all disciplines from Angola, Botswana, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia, Zambia, Zimbabwe, South Africa and Swaziland. S.Africa Grants Zimbabwean Illegals Permits, but Warns of Continued Deportations

Under the arrangement, Harare will issue all its undocumented nationals in South Africa with proper documents, laying the ground for Pretoria to give them necessary permits. The South African government has finally agreed to issue all illegal Zimbabweans with relevant permits, but warns those who fail to obtain the documents face deportation starting next year. Government spokesperson Themba Maseko said Thursday that illegal Zimbabweans will be given appropriate documentation provided they have valid Zimbabwean papers. Midlands Arts and Culture fest unviels programme
